Sam started her coaching career in 2012 where she coached Elementary and Middle School volleyball which opened the door for her first year of club coaching! She has worked with many age groups since then running summer camps through her local community center for ages 6-14 and also coaching Frosh-soph and assisting Varsity for high school! She played college indoor and beach volleyball at Fullerton College and from there went on to play beach volleyball at Concordia University of Irvine. Her love for coaching and working with kids led her to earn her Bachelors Degree in Child Development. After graduating she continued coaching while also teaching Preschool for 4 years. Sam loves coaching 12 and under because she makes it her mission to 1. Help players improve their skills and 2. To enjoy their first years of playing so they take that love for the game into the next season and beyond! As a coach, Sam stresses that you should be ready to work hard with a good attitude when you step onto that court. She also believes that a good player should be respectful, responsible and should get excited about her teammates and her own successes! When Sam isn’t coaching she is spending time with her husband and daughter finding fun things to do in their new home town of San Marcos!
