Aysegul (Asha) is a passionate coach with twenty-two years of playing and coaching experience. She is excited to begin her new coaching experience with SoCal Volleyball Club. She is happy to help players progress and wants each athlete to improve and become the best volleyball players they can be. Her goal is to be a positive role model to the players and help them develop their fundamental volleyball skills. She hopes to instill an understanding of hard work, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

Asha was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. She began playing volleyball at the age of seven for Karsiyaka Sports Club. She continued to play at Karsiyaka until she graduated high school. After which she continued playing at Ege University, where she earned her degree in Physical Education and Sports Academics, as well as becoming a level three volleyball coach. During her time in college, she began coaching all ages of volleyball players. After graduating college she played professionally for five years. During her final year of playing professionally, she became an assistant coach of the women’s team at Arkas Sports Club. After her time at Arkas, she became the head coach of the women’s volleyball team at the Turkish Education Association (TED) Ankara College Foundation Schools. Following her stint at TED, Asha moved on to coach at the Turkish Volleyball Federation for a year where she helped develop players of all levels, to include players who were working towards selection to the Turkish National Team.

While coaching at TED, Asha began her journey into personal training, earning her personal training certification from the Turkish Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation. She is also a certified Spin Instructor through Schwinn and a certified Pilates Instructor through Body Balance. Upon her recent move to the US she has obtained US personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

In her free time she likes working out, hiking, biking, yoga, and going to the beach. She also enjoys crocheting, knitting, painting, gardening, and DIY projects.
