Rhiannon played volleyball for four years before getting involved as a coach. Her first experience playing was here at Socal, which sparker her passion for the sport of volleyball. During her time as an athlete, she was a setter and was team captain for her high school and club teams. After a shoulder injury in 2020, Rhiannon decided to start coaching. She first assistant coached the Novice Girl’s team at San Marcos High School, and helped with tryouts and camps at Socal. Rhiannon assistant coached the JV and Varsity teams for the SMHS 2021 school season, and have been assisting the Cal State University San Marcos women’s team for their 2022 season. As a coach and former player, Rhiannon values intrinsic motivation, accountability, respect, and passion. She would describe her coaching style as very technical, detail-oriented, empathetic, and motivational. Rhiannon is excited to coach here at Socal because it gives her the opportunity to encourage growth in young players and create an open and inspiring environment!
