Melissa Vivas grew up in Cypress and started coaching in 2019, because she enjoyed the game and wanted young athletes to have a good experience playing volleyball. Melissa has experience and excels at coaching middle school and high school level athletes. Players describe her coaching style as calm and understanding as she feels it is important to be patient when coaching because young athletes are hearing new information. Melissa believes to be successful, a team must trust one another and she strives to instill this in her athletes. Melissa chose to work at SoCal Volleyball Club because she misses being around the game and wanted to get back into coaching again. When not coaching you’ll find Melissa having fun outdoors and camping. She also enjoys the beach and spending time with her friends and family.
