Girwen Lat, originally from Aiea, Hawai’i, discovered his passion for coaching in 2023. His motivation to be a part of the coaching process stems from a deep love for the sport and the joy he finds in helping others who share that same passion. Girwen’s coaching expertise primarily focuses on middle and high school athletes. His mindful and unique coaching style sets Girwen apart as a coach, which resonates well with players. He firmly believes that a successful team is built on the foundation of respect, effective communication, patience, and setting and striving for goals. Girwen is dedicated to instilling these values in their athletes to help them achieve their full potential. Girwen chose to join SoCal Volleyball Club due to its proximity and reputation for providing a positive coaching experience. Outside of coaching, Girwen enjoys various activities, such as playing video games, participating in grass volleyball games, relaxing at the beach, and spending quality time with friends. As a coach, Girwen’s commitment to the sport and athletes is matched by a well-rounded approach to life.
