Damien Barriteau grew up in Oceanside and started coaching in 2013, because he wanted to introduce and teach others the game that he has learned to love. Damien has experience and excels at coaching high school level athletes. Players describe his coaching style as “tough love”. He challenges all his players to reach achieveable goals that sometimes require them to push themselves beyond what they think they can do. Damien believes to be successful, a team must trust, communicate, and believe in one another and he strives to instill this in his athletes. Damien chose to work at SoCal Volleyball Club because he’s been going to Socal open gyms since they used to be in oceanside. Although he never played club, the open gyms SoCal provided helped me find a passion for volleyball.
Notable coaching achievements include 2 time CIF Runner up (boys and girls) 1 time CIF champion (boys) 1 time state runner up (boys).
When not coaching you’ll find Damien playing video games and loves the technology industry as a whole. He also love fitness and going to the gym.
