Our Travel Teams compete in Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) tournaments.

In this video, Aimee teaches you how to find the SCVA tournament posting (pool schedule) on their website. While we’ll update the schedule on your team page, the SCVA may post last-minute schedule and location changes up to 5:00 pm the Friday before the tournament. So it’s wise to double-check their website before you hit the road!

Let’s dive into a step-by-step guide to finding your team’s schedule for the upcoming tournament weekend.

Step 1: Head to the SCVA Website

Start by visiting the SCVA website at www.scvavolleyball.org. Here, you’ll discover a treasure trove of information, including upcoming tournament specifics, results, standings, and venue directions.

Step 2: Find Girls Weekend Sites

Hover over the “Junior Girls” tab and navigate to “Girls Weekend Sites.” This section houses detailed information about the upcoming tournaments.

Step 3: Select Your Age Group

Click on the age group that matches your team. This filters the information to focus solely on the tournaments relevant to your team’s age category.

Step 4: Check Pool Information

Scan the page for your team’s pool information. If you notice no link or an outdated date, it means the latest pools haven’t been posted yet. Keep an eye out for updates in this section.

Step 5: Review Pool Details

Once you’ve located your team’s pool, delve into the provided information:

  • Pool Name: Indicates the division and pool number (e.g., Gold 5).
  • Date and Start Time: Specifies when your pool matches begin.
  • Court Number: Shows where your matches will take place.
  • Location: Provides the venue for the tournament.
  • Team Listing: Lists all teams in the pool, including your own.

Step 6: Understand the Schedule

Pay attention to the order of play for each team. Teams are typically assigned specific playing, sitting, and refereeing times. Take note of your team’s schedule to plan your tournament weekend effectively. Here is the pool schedule tournaments typically follow.

Step 7: Highlighted Teams

Some teams may be highlighted in yellow, indicating a later start time for their pool matches. Consider this when scheduling your weekend.

Conclusion

Locating your team’s tournament schedule online is straightforward and empowers players and parents to stay informed and organized. Following these steps on the SCVA website ensures you’re prepared for an exhilarating weekend of volleyball action.
