Dak Sivertson, a seasoned coach with over a decade of experience, hails from sunny San Diego. He began his coaching journey in 2011, driven by a passion for helping athletes improve at the sports they love. Over the years, Dak has coached at various competitive levels, including Division I, Division II, and Division III, making him a versatile and knowledgeable mentor.

Dak excels at teaching sports IQ, focusing on critical aspects such as blocking, eye work, and decision-making. He believes his teams may not always be the biggest, fastest, or strongest, but they can control how hard they work, think, and respond. This philosophy has earned him a reputation for fostering a growth mindset among his players. Dak's coaching style encourages new mistakes and emphasizes the importance of off-ball movement to enhance on-ball performance.

To Dak, success in sports comes from being willing, unapologetic, and selfless. He strives to instill these values in his players, ensuring they grow as athletes and individuals. Dak chose to coach at SoCal Volleyball Club because of the amazing people, coaches, and role models he found there. He appreciates teams that work hard and have fun, and SoCal has consistently demonstrated excellence in these areas.

When Dak is not on the court, you can find him spending quality time with his family. His notable achievements include 11 top 15 finishes in End-of-Year tournaments, with two 9th place and one 5th place finish in Open, as well as 6 top 10 finishes in SCVA. Dak was also part of the Coaching Staff of the Year in 2011 and has received individual accolades such as All-American Honorable Mention and Defensive Player of the Year for Pomona College, both firsts in the program. Additionally, he was a 1st Team All-Conference player in 2023.

Dak Sivertson's blend of experience, knowledge, and kindness makes him an invaluable asset to the SoCal Volleyball Club, where he continues to inspire and develop young athletes.
