Becky has been playing volleyball since her freshman year of high school. When she decided to try out, she couldn’t serve over the net or pass a ball. Her dad built a volleyball court in their backyard so she could practice daily, eventually learning how to serve and contact a ball. Her JV volleyball coach said that she made the team because of her “drive and spunk”. She said the team needed her positive attitude and passion for the game, despite her lack of skill at the time. Eventually she worked her way up to the varsity team as the starting libero and went on to become the libero for her men’s college volleyball team in Virginia. Her passion for volleyball followed her when she moved to California after her college graduation where she found SoCal. After attending an adult open gym at the club, she fell in love with the atmosphere. Becky has been with us for a year and has filled immersed herself in the Boys Program, Fall Ball and the Adult League. Before her year at SoCal she has 3 years of coaching experience under her belt!

When she played in school, she passed her passion on to her teammates and hopes to do the same with her players. You can usually find Becky on the court smiling, laughing, and cheering louder than the parents. She is passionate, driven, and determined to help her players succeed in and out of the gym. She has a very positive coaching style with a “failure is necessary to succeed” attitude. Overall, she wants her players to be as proud of themselves as she is of them.
