These camps are for incoming middle and high school players seeking more competitive training. Camps refine all volleyball skills (e.g., ball control, attacking, setting, serving) and introduce advanced team offense and defense drills and scrimmages to form positive player habits.

About your coaches

Week 1 (July 5-7): Mark Smith
In his 30-year coaching career, Mark Smith has experience at the high school, college, and USA National Team levels. His high school teams have earned 10 league championships with 13+ CIF appearances. His college coach resume includes UCSD, San Diego City College, Miramar, and Palomar. Mark also assisted the Men’s Deaf Olympic Team and coached as a clinician at Pepperdine and Stanford University. Currently, Mark is the Head Coach of Palomar’s men’s program and SoCal Volleyball Club’s Boys Program Director.

Week 2 (July 12-14): Eric Sato
Known as the best defensive specialist in the world in the late 80s and early 90s while playing for the USA National Team, Eric Sato is a two-time Olympic medalist (Gold ’88, Bronze ’92), and also owns gold medals from the 1986 World Championships and the 1987 Pan-Am Games, and bronze medals from the 1991 World Cup and the 1994 World Championships. In 2016, Sato was selected for USAV’s All-Time Great Male Player Award. He is also a sought-after coach for camps, private lessons, and is the SoCal Volleyball Club’s Beach Program Director.

Week 3 (July 19-21): Haley Price
Haley Price is the Assistant Coach at NCAA Division II powerhouse Cal State San Marcos. Prior to CSUSM Price was Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Louisburg College. Her coaching accolades include Big 6 District 1 AAA Coach of the Year honors. Price has a stellar track record of placing youth athletes in college programs through recruiting and college preparedness mentoring.

Week 4 (July 26-28): Sola Martin
Sola is passionate about coaching volleyball and is an inspirational leader. Her coaching style is fast-paced and focuses on rock-solid fundamentals. A collegiate setter by training, she runs a tight “team-first” system where all players thrive. A recent parent said about her camp: “Sola was an awesome leader and instructor of this summer camp — the kids responded positively to her and her team of coaches. Thanks Sola!”
