Character Through Kindness.
Marlene Galindo is passionate about volleyball. Marlene is very dedicated and hard working. The sky is the limit for her and there is not a time where she ever gives up. No matter what she does, she goes the extra mile. Marlene is always ready to learn and improve her skills. She is that girl with a positive attitude that always encourages her teammates to do their best.
Marlene started playing volleyball in eight grade at Rancho Minerva Middle School, where she fell in love with the sport. Once she enrolled at Vista High School, she decided to tryout and she made the freshmen team. She trained for libero and was even chosen to be captain. Marlene got awarded for being the most inspirational that year. Sophomore year, she made the Junior Varsity team. As a junior, she made Varsity. Senior year, Marlene was named captian for her team where she took a lot of responisiblities. She learned many life long aspects of how to be a good and effective team leader. Marlene received coaches award, chosen by her teammates as well as athlete of the season. Marlene is currently libero at So Cal Volleyball 18-1's team. She has also has also been part of clubs such as High Tide, North Country Edge.
Marlene isn't only a talented athlete, but she is also very studious. All the rigorous work and staying up late doing AP and Honors classes has paid off as you can see because she has a GPA of a 4.0. Marlene is also involved in clubs at her school: CSF and Character Leaders where she helps out her community by cleaning it up and showing what character is really about.
She plans to attend a four year college where she can continue playing volleyball and become an Ultrasound Technician. Marlene will strive hard to attain her goals.
