Kellie Richardson is a very passionate and competitive athlete who has an ardent desire to excel within the sport of volleyball at all levels. Kellie is always looking for new opportunities to improve her game. She is a very determined athlete that has been involved in sports nearly her whole life. Participating in many community activities and leadership conferences, Kellie has grown into a natural leader.

Kellie fell in love with the sport of volleyball after making the freshman team the first year of high school at Mission Hills High School. Kellie had never played a game of volleyball in her life before freshman tryouts. After making the team as a hitter and learning the skills, Kellie was voted one of the team captains on the team. With her drive and compassion for the game Kellie worked hard to learn the techniques. At the end of the freshman year she was voted Most Valuable player. As a sophomore, Kellie made the Junior Varsity Team as an outside hitter. The JV coach chose Kellie as one of the team captains due to her strong leadership and exceeding skills. As a junior, Kellie made the Mission Hills Varsity volleyball team. While on the 2010 varsity team, her team won the Palm Desert tournament. The team also placed second in league for the first time in the schools’ history.

In her senior year Kellie helped lead her Varsity team to another second place league finish, highlighted by a 23 kill match to help her team to a win over the League champions. In Kellies final year on her High School team she received an MVP award and was also voted to the first team all league. Kellie is currently a member of SoCal Volleyball Club 18-1 National team.

Prior to playing volleyball Kellie participated on a competitive swim team for 9 years participating in the Junior Olympics seven times. Kellie is also a member of the Varsity swim team at Mission Hills High School competing in League championships, CIF prelims and finals in both freshman and sophomore years as well as setting 4 school records.

Kellie’s passion and determination does not end after stepping off the court. Kellie excels within the classroom as well. As a freshman she upheld a 4.0 GPA in honors classes. As a sophomore and adding an AP class and adding to the honors classes Kellie consistently held a better than 4.0 average. Through the first semester of her senior year Kellie has maintained a 4.30 GPA. She has also been a part of the CSF program at her school since freshmen year. Kellie has also been accepted to the National Honors Society because of her leadership and charitable skills. Kellie has also been nominated for Junior National Leadership conventions, being asked to travel to the U.S. Capital and China. Kellie’s drive and determination to strive through her life has helped her to achieve her goals. Kellie plans to matriculate to a four year university and to continue playing volleyball at a high level.
