Colleen has always been a competitive player, whether it was soccer or volleyball. Colleen played soccer for about 8 years and then she tried volleyball and immediately made it her primary sport. This year is Colleen's 6th year of volleyball. All 6 of these years that she has played were at SoCal Volleyball Club. Thanks to good coaches and her ability to learn quickly she has developed as a volleyball player. Colleen always has a positive attitude on the court.
Colleen started playing volleyball at the private school, St. Francis, she attended from Pre-School until 8th grade. In 7th grade she tried out for the volleyball team and she made it! Ever since then she has played for both SoCal Volleyball Club and also the schools that she has attended. Colleen goes to Rancho Buena Vista High School and she has been playing at Rancho all 4 years. Freshman year she made the Freshman volleyball team, which she was so excited about. Sophomore year she was on Junior Varsity, along with Junior year. This past year at Rancho she was on the Varsity team and she loved it. Colleen was able to contribute to her team this year and helped her team advance to the finals for Division 1 CIF. They played a tough game against Torrey Pines High School, but sadly lost. Colleen's high school coach, LeAnne Debora, said "Colleen is that type of player that can come off of the bench, go into the game, have an amazing play and pick up the spirit of the team, which is hard for a lot of players to do."
Colleen stays busy with volleyball, work, and academics. She does well with managing her time and is a good student athlete and has a 3.3 GPA. Colleen is a dedicated worker when it comes to school, her job, and volleyball.
She would like to be able to attend a 4 year college and play volleyball. She always says that she thinks switching from playing soccer to volleyball is one of the best decisions she has ever made.
