Aimee Asebroek graduated with honors from the University of California, Irvine in 2005 where she received her Bachelor's degree in Spanish and her minor in Educational Studies. At Irvine, she was the president and captain of the Women's Club Volleyball Team for three years, earning the SCCVL Player of the Year award her last 3 years, and was also the President of the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball league.
Aimee's other volleyball playing experience includes 2 years playing for Club Strictly Volleyball and 3 years playing for North County Volleyball Club as an Outside/Opposite hitter. She also played 3 years on the Varsity team at Vista High School where she received the Coaches Award.
Aimee started her club coaching career with North County Volleyball Club's 12 and under team at the age of 19, and has since coached at SoCal Volleyball Club. She has coached at the 14s, 16s, 17s, and 18's level for girls, and the 14's level for boys. Under the tutelage of Olympic player and renowned coach Mary Jo Peppler, Aimee has developed the training curriculum for the club's National traveling teams, as well as the thriving clinic and camp side of the program, and is the current Director of Administration at the Club. She has also run camps and coached for the City of Vista, Club Strictly Volleyball and North County Volleyball Club. Aimee has coached at San Marcos High School for the past 3 years. She is currently an assistant coach at AIAA Conference Champion Cal State San Marcos University, and works closely with head coach Andrea Leonard on both the coaching and recruiting side.
She believes that hammering home the fundamentals are a must for ALL ages and skill levels but that developing and maintaining teamwork skills and great attitudes are even more crucial. For her, there is an overriding emphasis on enjoying the experience as a whole and creating a lifelong love for the game. Aimee also stresses consistent hard work and respect for one another and coaches.
Aimee loves beach volleyball, singing, travelling and being with her husband and family.
