Hi everyone,

There are several changes to take note of from my previous email today. ASC expanded hugely and they changed somethings. First, there is no camping allowed so dont bring all the goodies I mentioned before, no tables, no chairs, and no coolers on site. I guess you can keep food in your cars for when the girls are off but then again it will be raining. There are two food service places at the facility and a pavilion to go to when your team is off.
Secondly, the parking is $15.00 in front I believe and off of Claudina way it is $8.00 with tram service to the ASC building. The roof top parking has been taken away.
I attached the new layout of the facility. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly.

Saturday Tournament 1-21-2012

Hi Everyone,

Our tournament is located at the American Sports Center in Anaheim. This is very close to Disneyland and the ETA is about an 1 hour and 15 mins. We are in the 3rd seed again, which means we play, off, ref, play, play, off. Please have the girls at ASC at 7am. ASC does reserve place to camp outside so bring all the goodies that you came with last time and dress warm. The camp area is in the shade until at least the afternoon.
ASC is a huge facility! They have a cool volleyball store and a cafe. I believe parking is $10.00, however, if you park on top of the building it should be free. ASC is also home to the SCVA, and the National Teams. It is a very cool facility so enjoy. There is no air conditioning inside, which is terrible when it is hot so be prepared for that in the future.
With the facility being so big, you may find it hard to locate where your court is. When you walk into the building go to your right and there should be all the listings of teams and courts. Look for Socal Moonlight and follow the signs above to locate your court. Parents, there is a charge for entering the facility. I think its 3-5 dollars so be prepared for that.
No chairs inside btw. However, they do have bleachers for most or all of their courts.
Directions are below

AMERICAN SPORTS CENTER - 1500 SOUTH ANAHEIM BLVD., ANAHEIM

www.americansportscenter.com

From the South - 5 Freeway North to Katella Ave. - Exit Katella toward Disney Way - Turn slight left onto Anaheim Way - Right onto South Anaheim Blvd.

***To get to the parking structure on the top, exit Ketella towards Disney way, go through the light, and take slight right on Claudina Way. Take this road to the end and there will be a ramp that takes you to the top. You will be parked on a textile building so find the stairs, (2 flights down) and follow the directions to ASC. There will be tape that gives direction.
See you in the morning. We should have loaners for the kids.
Thanks,
Coach Savage

Sunday Tournament

Hi Parents,

We are going to be in Temecula this weekend at the Rancho Sports Center. This is one of the closer locations which is great being that you and the girls can sleep in longer! The directions for the site are below in red.
The tournament will begin at 8am. The girls need to be at the gym at 7:00am dressed and ready. I would suggest bringing warm clothes for the early morning as it will probably be cold in the valley. The day should warm up nicely but do come prepared.
Our play schedule is PLAY, OFF, REF, PLAY, PLAY, OFF This is the 3rd seed schedule which is generally the most preferred schedule since you are off the last match and are able to go home a bit earlier. Each match runs about 45 minutes. You can expect to be at each tournament until 12:30 to 2:00 depending on how the games go. We will probably be done before 12, having the 3rd seeded position.
Parents, please bring a set up for camp for yourselves and for your kids. Generally chairs, a big tent, and coolers full of drinks and healthy snacks is best. There will be several more tournaments to come and with each the camping will be a more familiar process. There will be no chairs allowed in the gym so be prepared to stand or sit against a wall. Often times there are not bleachers indoors for the parents to use. I cant remember if this gym has them or not. Its a 5 court facility and I doubt there is much seating if any.
So a recap,
  • Be at the Gym at 7am, dressed to play
  • Dress Warm, parents and players
  • Chairs, blankets, and coolers with healthy snacks
  • Parents be prepared to stand
  • Directions in red, BELOW!
See you all Sunday,
David Savage

I was wondering if we we're going to do the Rudolph Rally.  I meant to ask at practice; but I forgot.

Thanks :).
